The Wrong Education

They always told him
"You will never learn"
but the truth was
that he had actually learned quite well.

Learned to fake his emotions,
learned to wait until they weren't looking,
learned to lie like a serpent,
learned to mask his intents.

The problem was not that
he never learned.
The problem was that
he continued to get caught.

Or so he thought.

So with each failure
came a lesson,
and with each lesson
came another failure.

And so it went.
