Matchbook

Don't even know where I found you
since, unlike your well-worn brethren
in the jar alongside, you lack the
neon-colored logos of the hotel,
restaurant, bar, casino.  Your dirty white
cover is torn at the edge, and when
flipped back, you reveal only two
matches remain inside.  I try,
but the first match doesn't light.
