Prolific

Cranking out volumes and volumes of material
is like a dog eating and napping and crapping
living life for the sole purpose of producing
something whether it is good or bad
soon loses relevance so long as it is.

However, those who choose to spend their time
perfecting each and every letter
of each and every word
making up each and every stanza
may find themselves with a difficult time eating.

"Everything in moderation" is the cry of idiots
who can't perfect something or who overdo everything.
What they mean by "moderation" is that they are
too lazy or undisciplined to quit it entirely
but they recognize its evil and it must be curtailed.

Most likely those same moderate idiots
are moderately mediocre on a moderate Wednesday.
Oh look at that, a witty edit, a use of alliteration, but not
entirely because Monday was left out of the picture. Perhaps
I'm not all that moderated.

It is another day, so another ten thousand pages
of material must be generated by those who are better suited for this life
than those of us who are not.
Hats off and on the rack before these words start
to make sense or offend or please.
