irritation
caused by pain
caused by the one feeling the pain
all due to a constant nervous twitch
a bite a pull a scratch
and the rough edge tears free
rubbed to the left by the thumb
waiting and slowly ripping gracefully
a last minute change in direction
and the rip gashes down
blood oozes over the finger
and the pain strikes
the picking the gnawing the biting
all trying to smooth the teeth of the edge
sawblades on finger tips
turn to shreds and agony
