Production

human being
signifying that what I am is important
when really we care about what we produce
human producer

Is it really that difficult to narrow it down?
In the end of days, at the end of ways
when we boil it up
even those who we admire for who they were
we judge by what they did
or what they made
or invented
or painted
or wrote
or produced.

and so we plod on
producing more and more
until we are spent
and all we've produced
are withered human beings
devoid of an ability to produce

and society deems them worthless
but only then
will those that love us
allow us to be appreciated
just to be
and we can gladly call ourselves
human beings
not human producers.
