slowdown

it must be a slow day
  the phone calls have stopped
do they know something i don't
  are they in on something that i am not
or maybe there is a simpler explanation
  are they on vacation and i am still here
the last worker in the office
  the only one who is not sitting on
    the beach
    the lake
    my couch
    a stool at the casino
and instead i am sitting here
  in an ergonomic chair
waiting for the next phone call
  that does not seem to be coming
staring at a blank screen
  waiting on the next email
wondering if the e postal worker
  was attacked by a cyberdog
or if there is just no mail to deliver
  not even that one advertising things
that are inappropriate to view at work
  and i have to delete it
but even that type of cyberdrivel
  does not seem to arrive today
which i suppose is just fine
  saves me the trouble
    of
    having
    to
    do anything.
