Every journey of one thousand miles
begins with a single step
or so they say in platitudes
But I'd counter it's the travel
not the start nor end that
matters across the latitudes
Friendships are built
riding along the two lanes
passing through the land
More so than drinking
margaritas, feet and toes
embedded in the sand
