Ghost Story Out of Place

Spirits and ghouls
  fit much better in October.

Their presence remains
  to haunt the year over.

We forget those gone
  they never were here.

As Spring blooms new growth
  we all lose our fear.

The optimist speaks
  bright eyes, longer days.

The ghosts disappear,
  with shortened night haze.

But they will return
  as the summer days end.

And we will be ready
  to fear once again.

Now you're talking my poetic preference here. Oh no, not the spirits and the ghouls, but the rhythm and the rhyme....very cool, in a spooky kind of way.
