Too Long

The day is long, too long
too long to fret about, too long
too long to sleep away, too long
too long to think about.

The wapiti reels and falls
crashing into the snow
crishing the twigs and growth
beneath the weight of herself

The chipmunk carries on
gathering, carrying, continuing
paying no attention.

why did the mingling
who did the crossing
and what did the mixing.

type.
cast.

falling into repetition of thoughts.
falling into a pit of self-denial
falling into a mountaintop of fun
all the while falling.
